Geostuff: Essential Seismic Accessories

Geostuff manufactures limited production geophysical accessories which fill an important need, but where the market is not served by major geophysical companies. We believe that we are the world’s leading (if not the only) manufacturer of each of our products. Currently, we supply:

Land Streamers, Rollalong Switches, Wall-lock Borehole Geophones
and
other accessories for seismic surveys.

A Land Streamer is a string of geophones designed to be towed along the ground. It greatly increases production in seismic surveys by eliminating the need to individually plant, connect, and then move groups of geophones.  For more information, visit the Land Streamer page.

A Borehole Geophone is a particular type of vibration detector for seismic waves--one that is designed to be used in a hole drilled in the ground. A wall-lock geophone is one designed to clamp the phone against the side of the borehole wall, usually so that S-waves or shear waves can be recorded. For more information, visit the Borehole Geophone page.

A Rollalong Switch is used in exploration seismology to select a group of geophones from a longer array placed on the ground surface. In common mid-point (or CMP, or common depth point, or CDP) reflection surveys, the geophone array is moved a short distance each shot. It is more convenient to do this electrically with a rollalong switch. For descriptions, visit the Rollalong Switch page
